LIFESPAN OF A LARCH TERRACE?

The lifespan of larch decks, especially Siberian larch, varies depending on conditions and maintenance.

Siberian larch :

With proper maintenance, decks made from Siberian larch can last  25 years or more . This type of wood is known for its high resistance to weather, rot and pests due to its natural resin content.

Without regular maintenance, the lifespan can range between  10 to 15 years , but with minimal care and treatment, wood can maintain its functionality and appearance for many years.

European larch :

Conversely, European larch has a shorter lifespan, usually around  8 to 12 years , which is due to its lower density and durability compared to the Siberian variant.

Siberian larch is considered one of the most durable softwoods, making it an ideal choice for outdoor patios. Its high density (approx. 690 kg/m³) contributes to its resistance to mechanical wear and weathering.

Terraces made of this wood require minimal maintenance, but regular cleaning and occasional treatment with a protective coating can extend their lifespan and maintain their aesthetic appearance.
